Another five days passed. Each day increased the anxiety in the two units. They barely said more than a few sentences to one another as their thoughts consumed them. Isaac stared at the CBC all day, hopelessly waiting for anything connected to the case, desperate for something to show his nightmare was over. It never came.

Charlene and Malcolm agreed to not have Sean in the loop. Like them, he recognized they were using Isaac as bait. They didn’t mention the others were secure, and they alone remained as a target. The witch would come.
